We have individuals on our Needs List in La Crosse County who are waiting for a volunteer match!

Most needs take about an hour of your time and vary from visiting, going out in the community, helping with errands or grocery shopping.  Most common areas of service are La Crosse and Onalaska.

Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we have evolved to be one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 38 minutes.

A Wish Granter will meet with the child and his/her family to help determine the child’s most heartfelt wish while planning special enhancements throughout the wish process. Wish Granters work in teams of two or three alongside Make-A-Wish staff to ensure every eligible child’s wish comes true.

We are in need of Wish Granters throughout the whole state of Wisconsin, especially in the Northern half of the state. If you are interested in the opportunity, please reach out to Jenni to get started.

We are looking for a "crew" of about 2-3 people to come in and paint the walls of our club.  They all are white from top to bottom with a few windows and bulletin boards to work around.  Otherwise, pretty basic.  

In our busy active Club we have approximately 100 or more people though it each day.  This means we need to repaint the interior of the building approximately every 3-4 years.

Need volunteers to paint the interior of the building, while the children are not here.  Which would be before 2:30 pm on school days.

We can use you to paint a small or large room depending on the time you have available.  We provide all painting supplies.

In our busy active Club we have approximately 100 or more people though it each day.  This means we are always cleaning.  While we take care of the day to day needs we are always in need of helping hands to do spring and fall type cleaning jobs.  

Cleaning vents, baseboards, edges.  Move furniture and clean behind it.  Clean furniture, organize toys and games.  Organize art supplies.  We have both hard labor jobs and light/no lifting jobs

Need volunteers to do while the children are not here.  Which would be before 2:30 pm on school days.

We provide all cleaning supplies.

Assist our Club staff member (Kids Cafe Cook) in preparing, serving and/or cleaning up our daily meal.  We serve a hot after school meal to approximately 100 children every school day.

May help with many different tasks under the direction of the cook.

Volunteer must have safety in mind at all time.

Assist with set up and clean up of the dining room.  

We welcome help anytime we are preparing meals for Club members.  The most helpful shifts are Monday - Friday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.  You many volunteer for 1-3 hours per day.

Children welcome with volunteers if they are age 7 or older.

Spend time reading with children.  Allow them to read to you, for better reading skills.  Assist with a homework area of your choice, science, math, reading, English, social studies.  Work under supervision of a Club staff member.

Purpose:    To assist a youth in a subject area needed while instilling a sense of competency, usefulness, belonging and influence.

 Reading Homework Assistant :  must have safety in mind at all times; relate to staff what progress the youth is making; and relate to staff what additional assistance is needed.

Assist with set up and clean up of the homework room.  

We welcome help anytime we are open for Club members.  They most helpful shifts are Monday - Friday from 3:45 p - 4:45 pm and/or 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm

Children welcome with volunteers if they are age 7 or older.

Purpose:    To assist in the teaching of a craft or skill to youth that will promote a sense of competency, usefulness, belonging and influence.

You must have safety in mind at all times; and support the Club Staff Member leading Arts and Crafts.

Assist with set up and clean up of the craft room.  Engage with Club members during the activity assisting them with their creation

We welcome help anytime we are open for Club members.  They most helpful shifts are Monday - Friday from 3:45 p - 4:45 pm and/or 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm

Children welcome with volunteers if they are age 7 or older.

Purpose:    To teach a musical skill to youth that will promote a sense of competency, usefulness, belonging and influence.

The Music Leader:  must have safety in mind at all times; relate to staff what age group and instruments they can teach; relate to staff what supplies are needed two weeks in advance; and relate to staff what assistance is needed.

We welcome any musical teaching.  The Club owes approximately 6 guitars and 3 keyboards.  At our teen center we have a drum set and digital art studio, so club members can record their music

Children welcome with volunteers if they are age 7 or older.

Assist Club Staff is supervision of the Game Room.  Room had board games, pool, air hockey, fuse-ball and carpet ball.  Engage with Club members, play games with them.

Purpose:    To aide the program staff in providing fun, safe, and challenging activities that instill a sense of competency, usefulness, belonging and influence.

 The Game Room Aide must: have safety in mind at all times; have the ability to mediate conflicts; have the ability to “play” with youth; have the ability to relate to youth the consequences of their decisions; and relate to staff what additional assistance, supplies, and guidelines are needed.

We welcome help anytime we are open for Club members.  They most helpful shifts are Monday - Friday from 3:45 p - 4:45 pm and/or 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm

Children welcome with volunteers if they are age 7 or older.

Greet visitors, have them sign the guest book, provide a tour of the museum, share information, answer questions, and more.  

We provide training and a training manual.  

Hours are 1 to 4 P.M. May through October

CCFA's mission is: We are an alliance of congregations and people whose passion for community justice is rooted in diverse faith and justice traditions. Together we build relationships that create a more just, compassionate, and responsible community, especially for those who are displaced and marginalized. 

We oversee three projects: Circles of Support for ex-offenders, Share the Bounty for hungry/homeless, and Centro Latino for migrants/immigrants.

A full range of organizational development tasks are in need of volunteers, short and long term. From database building, to accounting, marketing and communication, event management, and fundraising. It's the type of organization and fellowship that changes you more than those we serve.

The Coulee Region Chill and La Crosse Freeze are continuously looking for community support.  Sports organizations thrive on the great support the community shows.  If you'd like to get involved, have fun watching hockey and would like to receive two free tickets for each night you volunteer we'd love to have you here!

Positions available on a game-by-game basis would be:

All games are played out of the Green Island Ice Arena behind Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, WI.

Share the Bounty attends weekly farmers markets and through relationships with farmers and vendors obtains and distributes to food pantries and directly to people in need over 30,000 pounds of fresh vegetable/fruit produce. Works in the La Crosse county markets. Need include event managers, packers, drivers, and general team participants. Share is a project of the Compassionate Community Faith Alliance www.ccfaithalliance.org

Circles of Support (see Circles on www.ccfaithalliance.org) consists of six people who meet with an ex-offender for a minimum of six months to assist in breaking the recidivism cycle and transitioning to a regular life. You are a faithful friend...not a professional counselor or mentor or teacher, etc. Can you be a faithful friend, ready at any time to support someone in their darkest hours as they struggle to break the habits and lifestyle that has led to their often many imprisonments?

Responsible for the promotion of Junior Achievement – Coulee District and assisting in all aspects of marketing for various special events and school programming throughout the year.

• 5-10 hours/week
• Assist in designing promotional materials for Junior Achievement- Coulee District, including: creating brochures, event programs, and newsletters as needed along with assisting in social media efforts 
• Schedule must be flexible and allow for attendance on event days and other special occasions
• Position may qualify for “service learning” credit

Responsible for supporting the Marketing Department in the promotion and marketing of Junior Achievement – Coulee District and assisting in all aspects of planning, implementing and marketing for various special events throughout the year.

• 12-15 hours/week
• Assist in marketing Junior Achievement- Coulee District, including: creating promotional materials as needed, assisting in social media efforts, and participating in marketing events.
• Assist in planning of special events, including: securing sponsorships, securing raffle and auction prizes, planning logistics, attending committee meetings, assist in event day set up and take down and any other event detail as needed.
• Schedule must be flexible and allow for attendance on event days and other special occasions
• Position may qualify for “service learning” credit

Service-Learning Opportunity for Viterbo VUSM 300 Students

Help out the students of Northside Elementary while they are attending a FREE doctor appointment!  We need help with greeting the students and parents, handing out the proper paperwork and guiding the parents to community services.

The clinic will be open Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm

DART Service Volunteer will provide consistent, invaluable service transporting and escorting patients, delivering items between departments, and other requested ancillary services, promoting a sense of welcome and caring service to our customers.  This service by volunteers will enable paid staff to remain on the units and in departments to perform professional duties, thus providing better care and service to our patients and visitors.

Volunteers must complete the required application and screening process, plus a transporter screening (assessment) for transporting wheelchair patients; also training for cart transportation.  This assignment requires a considerable amount of physical stamina, as volunteers do a great deal of walking.

The Dispatch/volunteer base: Hospital first floor in Patient Registration area; Service areas:  Primarily between 3rd, 7th and 9th nursing units in the Hospital and ancillary service areas such as Radiology, Rehab Services, etc.; also the Clinic, Cancer and Surgery Center, Professional Arts building, St. Ann building, and Occupational Health building.

DART Services are offered Monday thru Friday; 7:45 am – Noon; Noon – 4:00 pm; ideally, a team of 4 volunteers per shift.
